TEL AVIV, 30. October./ The number of children killed in Gaza in just three weeks has exceeded the number of children killed annually in conflict areas in more than 20 countries over the last three years. This is evident from a statement published on the website of Save the Children, an international charity.
The organization refers to figures from the Gaza Strip and the Israeli Ministry of Health, which show that since the 7th In October, more than 3,257 children died as a result of the conflict, of which at least 3,195 in the Gaza Strip, 33 in the West Bank and 29 in Israel. According to the latest annual reports of the UN Secretary-General on children and armed conflicts, 2,985 children were killed in 24 countries in 2022, 2,515 in 2021 and 2,674 in 22 countries in 2020. Thus, "the number of children killed in just three weeks in the Gaza Strip exceeds the number of children killed annually in armed conflicts worldwide (in more than 20 countries) in the last three years," the statement says.
